Duncan Eco Seeder

The Eco Seeder is the smallest drill in the Renovator range and packs a punch with all the great features of its bigger brothers.

All the trusted Renovator components are found on the Eco Seeder, from 25mm coil tines and Baker boots, right through to the variable speed gearboxes and peg tooth seed metering units.

Whether you want to sow seed and fertiliser or just seed, there is a model suitable for you. Each Eco Seeder model can be configured as trailed or linkage mounted with single or dual boxes, and options such as tine harrows and disc openers add to the versatility of this drill.

This is the perfect seed drill for a farmer who wants high quality and reliability on a smaller budget.

Key Features

Watch our video where Matt chats about the key features of the Duncan Eco Seeder. Key features are also illustrated below. In addition the Eco Seeder has a peg tooth roller distribution system.

The fully welded, heavy-wall RHS steel chassis delivers a strong, reliable frame to support all key operational components. Three toolbars provide ample room to space out and stagger the coil tines for excellent trash and residue flow. The chassis is blasted and powder coated for a long lasting, durable finish.

Large twin 326-L hoppers minimise filling time and maximise sowing efficiency, while a tough, durable powder-coat finish ensures long-lasting protection. You can optionally upgrade to stainless steel hoppers for an even more durable solution.

A wide rear platform provides safe, easy access for filling the hoppers with seed or fertiliser.

Stainless steel agitator shafts are mechanically driven from the metering drive system, slowly rotating to keep seed and fertiliser flowing to prevent bridging in the hoppers. The shafts can be disconnected for fast flowing seeds to manage the sowing rate.

25 mm coil spring tines with narrow tungsten-faced inverted “T” points deliver excellent ground penetration in most conditions for an ideal seedbed. Set at 147.5 mm (6") row spacing, the precisely positioned tines are mounted across three toolbars in a stagger pattern to optimise trash flow..

Inverted T-shaped replaceable boots create an ideal environment for fast, reliable germination. Their wing-heeled design forms a cavity that traps moisture around the seed and fertiliser for improved establishment. The boots are cast from Ni-Hard, an exceptionally durable material, with a tungsten carbide tile on the leading edge to maximise wear life.

Ground-drive metering from the jockey wheel comes standard, offering a simple, low-maintenance manual engagement system that has delivered proven in-field reliability for many years.

Trailed Eco Seeders use phased hydraulic cylinders to raise and lower the transport wheels evenly, with depth-stop collars setting consistent sowing depth as the drill is lowered into the ground.

Linkage-mounted Eco Seeders use turnbuckle adjusters to set the depth-control wheel height, ensuring accurate and consistent sowing depth.

Mechanical gearboxes accurately control the seeding rate of the metering units based on ground speed and the desired application rate per hectare. Calibration rates are easily and quickly adjusted with external rate control levers.

The peg tooth roller metering system handles everything from very fine to large seeds, using fine and large metering wheels for exceptional accuracy across low to high application rates. Easy to access and fast to adjust. All metering components are durable UV resistant plastic which are vermin proof and simply replaced if damaged.

Optional disc openers are an excellent choice to cut through cover crops and residual trash. They also assist with ground penetration in tough conditions.

Optional rear tine harrows sweep loose soil across the seed slots to aid germination, and the mounting frames automatically lift when the drill is raised, making it easy to back into corners.

Touch screen electric drive for simple and accurate calibration

Duncan drills can now combine our designs which have been proven through years of development with world class control technology.

Most models have the option to fit our new high torque electric drives and a touchscreen electronic rate control, instead of the standard jockey wheel with mechanical drive. This advanced system is simple to use and gives the user instant feedback about the operating state of the drill.

Packed with features, including:

  • Precision and flexibility to vary planting rates electronically
  • Fingertip calibration adjustments
  • Includes touch-screen control for turning planting on and off
  • Checks drilling rates and areas planted in real time
  • High torque electric motor drives and reduction gearboxes
  • Visual and audible warnings of drilling rates and bin levels
  • Transfer job data between the field and the office using a USB port

Add a GPS aerial for coverage mapping, record keeping and proof of planting.
